Still a long way to go but want
to share my first sitting of teaching myself to
oil paint.
This is wet on wet painting. Hopefully it has dried some over night so that I can
add some color today.

The background is a gesso black and white wash prepared last week. (See earlier post). I did a contour drawing of what I wanted to paint with a white charcoal pencil. It did help me to keep the black and red colors from blending into one another. I have lots of ideas for this painting and only hope I can get them down on this canvas the way my brain is seeing them!
