I Love to Quilt!
Crazy Quilt
I've done two crazy quilts before - maybe you have seen them posted on here. But I have never embellished one and have collected books for years in an effort to persuade myself to do this.
Last week at my local quilt shop where my sewing circle meets, the owner told me they were forming a group to put together crazy quilts. Ears perked up!
"The kits are FREE", she said.
Huh?
The kits are free, but you must add the embellishments. We will meet once a month and at the end of a year you will have enough squares (13 x 13) to put together a good size quilt.
Well . . . . really . . . . seriously . . . .
Of course I jumped on this.
So the way it works is every month you recieve a kit with enough fabrics of similar colors and a piece of muslin to use as a foundation for placing the fabics in a scrappy, crazy pattern of your choice. Your square must be 13 x 13.
Then you can add hand embellishments ONLY in the colors that are in the fabric pieces.
Any type embellishments. Any mixture of embellishments.
You recieve points for your progress. The one with the most points at the end of the 12 months chooses the stack of squares in the color (one color only) of her choice! F.U.N.
Here is my first block. I decided to only embellish with embroidery.
So. Much. Fun!

Sew Easy!
Hand made Bag that I am carrying my
pastel pencils in. It can be used to carry anything.
I used a pre quilted place mat. Fold in in thirds. Sew the each side and down the middle.
I also sewed a ribbon on the outside flap (top) and the front on the middle in order to tie the case to close
Finally look when closed
Color me Happy! Sew Easy!
Self Portrait - Graphite Pencil
Doing the workbook for "Drawing On
The Right Side of the Brain"
Very first exercise is to look at yourself in front of a mirror and draw your own self portrait in 30 minutes.
So here's mine.
I can hardly wait to complete this workbook and then do another self portrait for comparison purposes! That should be interesting!

FLOW Diary . ..
FLOW is a magazine that I subscribe to and is printed in the UK.
I think that is why they call this a 'diary' and we here in the States call it a 'calendar'.
I just LOVE this diary/calendar but it is so much more!
Inside pages
and the back cover has a pocket full of FLOW goodies!

Sew Easy
Quick and Easy Sewing Project
Step #1
Start with a Pocket Pot Holder
Pretty Button
Needle and Thread
Step #2
My Pot Holder Had a hook on the tab for purposes of hanging. Find the right size button that will fit through a hook like this - no worries if you do not have one. I will tell you what to do if you do not at the end of this project. Sew that chosen button in place.
Step #3
Because my gray button was so plain and boring for me I decided to add some color with a smaller button that I sewed directly on top of the gray one using the same sewing holes.
Step 4
Check to make sure it actually works! Yay, it does!
Step #5
Put your chosen objects in the pocket! Quick and Easy.
IF YOU DO NOT HAVE A POTHOLDER WITH A HOOK - no problem. Just find a pretty ribbon and sew the top of it where the tab (and hook) would be. Wrap that piece of ribbon (once sewn on) around the button to close your pocket!
Enjoy!

I AM AN ARTIST. . . .
I love this sign, and although I believe in it, I must admit I do a lot of work for free. Why you ask? Because it is in my heart to do things that make other people smile. So I do portraits on occassion for my friends.
oh well.

Music is Forever . . .
I love music. It heals my soul. I am teaching myself to play piano. I did take lessons for a while but I got tired of the weekly grind of it. So now I play and practice when I want to. That's how I like to do things. . . . when I want to!
So this joke is pretty funny to me!

I've Been Everywhere Man . . . (well, almost)
Kennybunk Port, Maine
ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS COUNTRY!
I love Maine. I have always loved Maine since I was a little girl, and than in my early adult years I would take my kiddo's camping in Maine. Just love Maine!
This is a small cabin we rented while visiting the Great State! Just down the road from Kennybunk Port.
When in Maine you MUST have their wonderful, fresh lobster. Oh my, there is nothing like it!
View at dusk of Old Orchard Beach.
A little former President Bush humor!
F.U.N.
Since I love lighthouses (because they guided lost ships to safety) oh course we had to visit one.
That's all folks!
